Mascara DRAMA!

I’m sure many of you are aware of the mascara drama over on TikTok right now *Eye Roll*

Whatever your thoughts, you can’t disagree that the controversy around this product has been an excellent marketing strategy for L’Oreal. I mean how many of you have been intrigued or wanted to try the mascara for yourself?

I actually wanted to try it before the drama *insert another eye roll* but obviously now so does everyone and their mum.

Can I just clarify the original L’Oreal Telescopic isn’t one of my favourite mascaras. I’ve used it multiple times, each time hoping to fall in love with it the way so many others do but it just doesn’t work for me. I think it ends up making my lashes look thin and spiky, whereas I generally prefer them to be more volumous. I much prefer the L’Oreal Lash Paradise.

Anyways this post is about the Telescopic Lift, this product is causing uproar right now and the thing is, I actually legitimately really like it. I've used it a few times now and it's impressed me. I do have naturally quite long lashes but I was seriously so impressed with the separation, curve and volume this gives my lashes.

I used the flatter side of the wand to load the product on, really concentrating on the roots and then proceeded to comb through on the opposite side of the brush. If you’re not a fan of plastic comb mascara wands then this won’t be for you. I applied a generous amount and one thing I loved was that my lashes looked thick but didn’t feel heavy with product. I also found it kept my lashes lifted throughout the day - I mean not the 36 hours it claims but longer than a lot. That being said I did curl my lashes prior as I typically do before applying any mascara.

Will you guys be trying this mascara? What are your thoughts on the drama?

Personally I think lying to your audience is immoral and I’ve always tried to be as authentic as possible. Be mindful with reviews (paid ones in particular) and just remember what works for someone may not work for you. I mean I’m now 35 and I’ve been doing this since I was 19 and I’m sure products I loved way back when, wouldn’t be things I’d love now.

I swear these 20 year olds give us OG OAPS a bad name haha! I've always wrote my posts as if I'm talking to my family or friends and I mean you guys really are MY family!

Anyways I enjoyed using it and will continue to do so, will I repurchase it? Mehhh I don’t know I think there are better products out there it’s all about finding out what works for you.

Lots of love and REAL lashes
