Urban Decay - Naked Flushed

5/18/2013 01:28:00 am

ud1

I never really jumped on the 'Naked' bandwagon. I convinced myself that I didn't need anymore eyeshadow palettes to add to my already, overflowing collection - Actually let's face it I don't need anymore makeup! However when this arrived in the post I was pretty excited to have a play.

ud2

Naked Flushed is another extension to Urban Decay's Naked line and I must say this is an ideal all in one product. It's the kind of product that will be your best friend - a bronzer, a blush and a highlighter. I was actually so surprised with how well the colours worked on my complexion. I definitely wasn't sure if the bronzer was going to stand out but it ended up being such a gorgeous golden contour. The blush is a beautiful rosy pink and it adds the perfect pop of colour to the cheeks. As for the highlighter it's a soft, shimmery, champagne pink that compliments the blush beautifully.

ud4

I love how fine the powder is and how build-able the product is on the skin. It adds great colour and definition to skin.

A must have for the girl on the go!

Are you guys Naked fans? Am I the only one who doesn't own the eyeshadow palettes?

Victoria Secret - Secret Craving Body Mist

5/16/2013 10:22:00 pm

vs

It's not a fragrance, it's a body mist and boy I can't live without the Victoria Secret's body mists, I love them - Mainly because they are girly, sickly sweet and in my opinion smell amazing! I usually buy one whenever I travel so that the scent reminds me of that place and that particular time in life (Weird I know!). However this time in Duty Free I decided to go for a scent that I was already familiar with. I purchased the Secret Craving body lotion when I went to Dubai last year and then regretted that I didn't buy the body mist to accompany it.  When I moved to Paris late last Summer I  used the body lotion so much that the moment I spritzed myself with this in the Victoria Secret store in Dubai I was instantly in a happy place.

Blackcurrant and vanilla absolute who would of thought? Such a killer combination, it's such a distinctive scent and probably my favourite out of all of the body mists I have purchased over the years. I love to spritz these when I come out of the shower or when I want to wear something light and sweet!

Are you a VS fan like me? I love their body care, I always have to stop myself from bulk buying!

Have any of you tried these?

An evening at One&Only The Palm, Dubai

5/15/2013 12:11:00 am

When I visited Dubai I had the pleasure of spending some time at One&Only The Palm and it was so magical that I really wanted to share it with you all. The hotel is probably one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever visited, the grounds are gorgeous, the setting is so serene and the views are quite frankly out of this world.

I had dinner at the 101 restaurant which is situated on the resort's private marina. I really can't describe how incredible the surroundings are - one side overlooks the Dubai skyline and the other, The Palm island. It was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I have ever had. The cuisine is Mediterranean and the food I ordered was divine. The dining lounge itself is uber chic but very chilled out at the same time, I could have spent hours sitting on the lounge deck!

After dinner at 101 we got a private boat over to The Jetty lounge at The One&Only Royal Mirage. This is another fabulous spot to relax under the stars admiring the superb skyline whilst sipping on cocktails!

I would highly recommend an evening at One&Only The Palm for dinner or drinks and tapas. For reservations and more info check out 101 HERE. Also check out The Jetty Lounge at the One&Only Royal Mirage HERE. In my opinion both of these places are worth a visit if you're visiting Dubai.

I really understand why it's called the One&Only - It really is!

Kevyn Aucoin - Celestial Powder 'Candlelight'

5/13/2013 10:57:00 pm

ka4

Kevyn Aucoin Celestial powder in 'Candlelight' is by far one of the best highlighters I have ever tried and I have been using it religiously lately. The powder itself is fine and so lightweight on the skin, I apply a sweep of this along the tops of my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose. It makes my skin appear so much more radiant and this is probably one of the only highlighters I own without an obvious shimmer. Instead this powder is slightly iridescent, pearl-esque and catches the light so beautifully. It's the ultimate highlighting powder and one of those products that works wonders - I'm sure it will be a staple in my make up bag this Spring/Summer!

Illamasqua - Pink Raindrops

5/12/2013 09:27:00 am

Ila1

Illamasqua's Pink Raindrops is one of those super pretty nail polishes that no photograph will do justice. It's a gorgeous, slightly shimmery pink with a lilac iridescent tone, it also has a really soft glitter to it - Damn it's got it all going on!

illa3

I applied two coats of this nail polish and I love the way it looks especially when the light hits it - Beautiful! Even though 'Pink Raindrops' has so much going on I love how soft and subtle it all looks on my nails. I'm a real fan of Illamasqua nail polishes because what you see in the bottle is exactly what you get!

illa4

It also compliments my dusky pink Balenciaga bag which I have brought out to play now that it's officially Spring and the sun is shining!

What do you guys think of this colour? Oh if my cuticles look a mess it's because I thought I was a manicurist for a day and completely butchered them! :) HA.. Will be needing to rectify that ASAP.

Van Cleef & Arpels - Midnight in Paris

5/08/2013 05:38:00 pm

vc

What can I say? My girls know me the best! Thanks to my good friend Tali I literally have Paris in a bottle. Midnight in Paris is such a gorgeous fragrance from Van Cleef & Arpels. As soon as I saw the name I smiled to myself, yes the Paris obsession continues. The smell of this fragrance is quite possibly out of this world but what I love most is that it's actually a mens fragrance - Gotta love a bit of a mens scent now and then. It's so sexy, musky, but also somehow so feminine. The top notes of this fragrance are lemon, bergamot and leather balanced by base notes of insence and tonka. I love wearing this perfume it's so uplifting and I find it lasts really well on the skin. The bottle is as magical as the fragrance unfortunately you can't tell from the picture.

Wearing this makes me feel closer to Paris which I miss so much! Cheesy? Yes I know.

Here's one of my favourite pics I took during a Winters evening in Paris!

What have you guys been wearing lately? I think this is the perfect Summer evening scent.

New Jewels from Astrid & Miyu + Discount Code!

5/07/2013 07:54:00 pm

am7

You must all know by now how much I adore jewellery and I'm really going through a phase of wearing understated key pieces. Don't get me wrong I still love me a statement necklace but with the weather heating up I prefer to keep what I wear to a minimal. I was kindly sent some pieces from Astrid and Miyu, if you have seen any of my previous posts on their jewellery (HERE) you will already know how much I love this brand.

First up is the 'Strings attached necklace' I think I wore this almost every day in Dubai. I love where this necklace sits and how it can go almost unnoticed, but then the diamante stones really catch the light. I also love that you can layer with this necklace it's so beautiful on. - LINK

am8

Next up are 'The Perfect One' rings. I love these bands alone and love them even more all together. I am wearing this ring in all four colours. The gold, rose gold, silver and gun metal -  They are so dainty but love so gorgeous stacked. I have become a fan of mixing metals so rings like this are great to incorporate with that. - LINK

am4

lastly is the 'Silky stuff in Nude bracelet' I love how this sits on my wrist and adore the contrast of gold beading with the cotton. It's so simple yet so pretty on I think it's gorgeous for layering with multiple bracelets and my watch for that ultimate wrist candy. - LINK

I really love Astrid and Miyu's collection, I have noticed they have some new pieces like 'The perfect One' bangles that compliment my stacked rings - I really want them eek!

Fashionable Food at Hakkasan Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace

5/06/2013 04:47:00 pm

hk1

Last weekend whilst in Abu Dhabi me and Laura headed down to Hakkasan for a spot of dinner. The restaurant is situated in the Emirates Palace, it is such a beautiful setting and the vibe is super chic. The meal was amazing, we had no idea what to order so we were given a selection of signature dishes to try. Even though Laura and I, aren't real meat eaters the Ragu ribs for starters was divine it was cooked so well and just melted in your mouth, this and the dim sum platter were my favourite!

Small Eats - Hakka steamed dim sum platter & Jasmine tea smoked Wagyu beef ribs

hk7

Main - Charcoal grilled silver cod, Stir-Fry lotus root and asparagus in black pepper, Stir-fry Wagyu rib-eye beef in black bean sauce & Edamame egg fried rice

hk6

hk5

Dessert - Cheesecake with Mango sorbet

hk4

Hakkasan Abu Dhabi is definitely worth a visit, it has won best restaurant of Abu Dhabi for the last two years and it's obvious why - The cuisine, the ambience and the overall experience was wonderful.

The terrace overlooks the palace and it is so gorgeous, especially at night.

Thank you to the wonderful team at Hakkasan for the great service and a fabulous evening.

Nails inc. Monochrome Collection

5/03/2013 08:18:00 pm

n3

Who doesn't love a bit of monochrome ay? Well I'm sure by now, many of you know I practically live in black, I find is so effortless to wear and easy to jazz up. When the new Monochrome collection from nails.inc landed on my desk I was super excited to have a play with them, not only because of the black and white BUT because of the new leather texture nail polishes.

n4

I had fun playing with these and was pretty impressed with the collection.

n2

Noho - Black leather - LINK

I think this is my favourite polish out of the four, I love the finished texture of this leather look. It kind of reminds me of a matted (and non 3D) caviar manicure. I love the imprint that is left once this colour dries. I also love the finished colour, it's almost a dark, slate grey and you can really notice the texture of this polish.

Floral Street - White - LINK

I must say for a white nail polish the consistency of this was great, I love that it didn't streak and with two coats it looked perfect. I also had these on for a few days and was impressed that it didn't chip as quickly as I thought it would. I must say I have had this on my toes for over a week and it still looks perfect.

Black Taxi - Black - LINK

Again another great, glossy, strong shade of black. I often find black nail polishes to be tricky too? They are sometimes so weak in colour that it requires coat after coat to actually look BLACK. This was another pleasant surprise.

Clerkenwell - Off white leather

I am so annoyed with these pictures because they don't pick up the beauty of this colour. To me it's a soft cream with a slight nude/pink tone to it (Such a terrible description! SORRY). It also has the leather texture to it and I can really see this being a colour I wear often.

n1

Oh and something which I found really interesting was how easily the leather nail polishes removed. I often find textured nail polishes take forever to come off and it always put me off wearing them but these really pleasantly surprised me.

I actually rocked my monochrome nails like this, mismatched colours and textures - I love the juxtaposition of these together. What do you think of monochrome nails? Have any of you checked these out? What do we think of leather nails?

Brunching at the St.Regis Saadiyat Island

5/02/2013 12:30:00 pm

s11

Last weekend Laura and I escaped Dubai and headed to Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi for a mini break at the St.Regis. Everything was perfect except for the weather which was a little overcast and then all of a sudden it begun to rain *Cries*. Nevertheless we had a great weekend, relaxing, eating and sheeshing!

s10

I would definitely recommend brunching in Dubai/UAE it's a great excuse to get dressed up and eat/drink for hours! Although I think me and Laura did more laughing than eating, had such a great time. Saadiyat Island is so secluded and so peaceful, it didn't feel like we were only an hour and half away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai.
