(041) Shop MAC Cook MAC 'Shop & Drop' Quad

sho3

At the MAC LFW Masterclass we were sent away with some goodies, I have to say I was most excited about receiving this palette from the Shop MAC Cook MAC collection. It is such a wearable palette and I had fun playing around with it. I love the the visuals from the collection it's so bright and colourful and I have to say for the first time in a long time it gets me excited about make up.

This quad is the 'Shop & Drop Quad'  I love purples and blue and these are two of the looks I wore over the weekend. The purple look was one I wore on Saturday in my recent AVON post (HERE). With this look I used all four of the colours.

On Sunday I went for something a little more smokey and used the blue and the grey/taupe colour.

I will definitely be making good use of this palette. I think out of all eye make up when I wear blues I love it the most! I always tend to team them with corals and nude tones.

(040) The moment when..

You realise one of your FAVOURITE nail polishes is being DISCONTINUED!
*Cries*

fb3

I have been wearing 'Funboy' for years and come to think of it I've NEVER blogged about it. I don't quite know how that happened? I think it's because it's one of my most warn neon nail polishes and every time I wear it I feel like you guys have already seen it. Funboy is my 'Go-To' girly shade and I have to say it just brightens up my day.

fb2

When it's gloomy (like it was today) I love to wear Funboy it makes me smile and feel all girly. I am not really too much of a pink girl when it comes to polishes, I mean I go through phases but when in doubt Funboy is usually the colour I'd choose.

fb4

It's a matte nail polish like most neons and two coats is perfect, sometimes one is enough! I applied Seche Vite top coat over it to get that high gloss. This is such a Barbie shade of pink and I love it so much that I really felt sad when I found out it was being discontinued. I mean I do feel like there's always going to be a similar shade when it comes to nail polishes but still no more Funboy! (Well I still have two bottles!) If I'm wearing this I team it with one of my favourite neon pink lipsticks 'Schiap' by NARS - They are the perfect pair!

If you can get your hands on this colour before it's completely GONE! I urge you to, it's beautiful and makes me happy.. Funboy is by Rococo and may still be available HERE.

P.S Don't you love fresh flowers, I love Tulips they are so colourful bought these at the flower market on Sunday.

Hope you guys are well.. I'm fully recovered from the flu so back at you!

(039) Avon Ideal Flawless Invisible Coverage Foundation

avon3

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Avon to see if I wanted to try their new foundation. To be honest I very rarely go out of my comfort zone when it comes to foundation. I always find the base is the most important thing to get right when it comes to make up, so I stick to what I know and like. So when Avon approached me with their new Ideal Flawless Invisible Coverage, I was curious to see if it lived up to the name.

Alesha Dixon is the face of this foundation and she looks amazing in the campaign shots and video so I wanted to see how this foundation would work for me. Her skin always looks great and if I can come close to achieving that I know I won't be complaining.

avon4-1

I was sent the full collection of shades which is an overwhelming amount of foundation (16 in actual fact) but meant that I could find myself the perfect colour match in the comfort of my own home. I have to say I was very impressed with the selection of shades for warmer skin tones like myself. My shade in this foundation is 'Pure Beige'.

avon4

The texture of the foundation is very lightweight so I assumed the coverage would be too little too light for me. I am someone who can't shy away from a full coverage foundation (it's the only thing i'm comfortable with) - I was almost sure that this wouldn't work for me, but I really liked it on. The coverage is definitely build-able which is a good thing!

avon1

The foundation itself has a beautiful light reflecting finish to it, once applied it leaves your skin looking very healthy and quite literally glowing. I can't believe how well this blended in and it felt so light (It was almost as if I wasn't wearing anything!). I love that this foundation dries with an almost powder like finish.

avonf2

The packaging of these foundations is very slick and at a glance you would think it was a foundation from any other high end brand. I love that this foundation has a pump, this I think is something so essential to foundations in bottles as it means there is less waste and less mess.

I thought as I was sent so many of these foundations I would make over friends and family members using this foundation and let them tell you what they think of it. This way you can get a different perspectives from people of different complexions, skin types and ages.

This foundation is available from Avon online and is currently on offer for £10 instead £12, check it out HERE.

Have any of you tried this foundation? I noticed Nic from Pixiwoo using it in one of their recent videos and it looked amazing on her! What do you guys think about high street foundation? How do you think they compare to the high end?

(038) Scrub Loving!

sc1

Since my recent trip to Marrakech and in particular my experience at Les Bains de Marrakech (Full post HERE) I have been on a quest to keep my skin as silky smooth as possible. I hate winter with a passion, YES I love the comfort of being indoors and watching it from the inside but I hate how it makes me feel and how it impacts on everything from my mood, food and more importantly my skin. I love a good body scrub, now as I mentioned in my post from LBDM I now know what the real definition of body scrubbing is and while I may not come close here are a few products I have been using in an attempt to maintain soft, smooth skin!

REN Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish

Sticking with the Moroccan theme and no stranger to my blog this sugar scrub has been a favourite for a while. The texture is grainy and gritty but in such a beautiful sweet smelling way, I love the finish and the way in which my body feels the full benefit of the Moroccan rose oil. It leaves my skin silky with the gorgeous hint of rose.

Available HERE.

Bliss Vanilla + Bergamot Body Buff

Now this is a relatively new scrub for me and I have only used it a few times but so far I am loving it. The blend between vanilla and bergamot is amazing, it really balances out the sweetness of the vanilla. For some reason to me it smells like Christmas to me I think it kind of reminds me of a more muted scent of frankincense. This scrub is more creamy and less grainy but I have to say it left my skin feeling super soft. The shea butter and sweet almond oil are great ingredients for moisturising and hydrating the skin.

Available HERE.

Exfoliating Mitt

sc2

Now this one I picked up in Marrakech in the souk and is similar to what they use in the Hammam process. I find the texture to be slightly rougher than your average drugstore mitt. It's perfect for exfoliating away dead skin cells and leaving your skin super silky.

Bliss Fat Girl Slimulator

sc3

I have been using this for the last year and is fab for circulation, this is less of a scrubbing tool but more one that will help to reduce the appearance of cellulite and helps with circularation. I really notice a difference from using this and I've been doing so for quite a while.

Available HERE.

Do you like to body scrub? What are your favourites?

Sorry for the lack of posting this week, I am still trying to get over this nasty cold I have hopefully I'll have a lot more for you over the weekend.

Lots of Love

(037) Lippie Lovin' Ft Sephora Creamy Lip Stain No.3

mfloves

Hey guys sorry I have been absent for a few days, I've been ill and it's quite literally taken over. I wanted to post this straight after my LFW pos but didn't get the chance to so thought I'd blog about this now. If you are a regular reader you will know how much I love the Sephora creamy lip stains. I first picked one up in Miami last summer then when I was back in New York and Miami in November I picked up a few more.

They are ideal for someone like myself who loves to wear bold lip colours, but hates having to touch them up. These creamy lip stains are applied like a lipgloss and the texture to begin with is very lipgloss-like within just a few seconds the finish of the lip stain dries to matte.

On Saturday I wore this fuchsia colour to Fashion Week and I honestly applied it around 7am and by 8pm in the evening it was still on my lips. I had eaten and drunk all through out the day and it honestly stayed put so well.

5817460505_895f5cbe38

If you are near a Sephora I can't urge you enough to try these babies out! I know I will be stocking up next time I'm near a Sephora. This colour is number 3 Strawberry Kissed! I love it, it's like a neon red/fuscia definitely one made for standing out!

(iPhone photo : Not a great picture to show the colour, but I wore it to match the blazer..)

You MUST check these out HERE!

(036) LFW Day 2 MAC Masterclass with Pablo Rodriguez

ma11

ma3

ma4

Today was day two of London Fashion Week and I was lucky enough to be invited down to a MAC Masterclass at Somerset House. For those of you that don't know Somerset House is where the majority of fashion shows take place during LFW. The atmosphere is incredible - surrounded by fashionistas, bloggers, press, photographers and the odd celeb here and there.

Jameela Jamil being papped!

The masterclass was taught and talked through by Pablo Rodriguez, senior make up artist for MAC. He was recreating a look from the Setphane Rolland couture show in Paris. What I loved most about Pablo was the way in which he was so down to earth and urged ask to ask him questions and it was a really interactive and informative session.

The initial look from the Stephane Rolland couture show which he recreated was.

The face was flawless and Pablo started by using Stuido Sculpt foundation which he buffed in with a 188 brush. He then applied Select cover-up Concealer with a 217 brush. To set the face Pablo used Blot Powder with a 168.

To contour Pablo used a new contouring creme which is being released later this year he applied this with the same 188 brush and blended out with his fingers. To the apples of the cheeks he applied 'Pink Swoon' blush which just lifted the models face using the 168 brush.

To start the eyes  Pablo used 'Feline' Eyeliner in the water line and the upper lash line (This is the blackest eyeliner that MAC do). He then proceeded to apply 'Blacktrack' Fluidline Eyeliner and applied this packing the product all over the lid with a 149 brush. To smoke this out Pablo used a 224 brush. (My holy grail of a brush!) What I found really interesting was the Pablo said he could do a whole face using just a 149 and 224!

ma2

The black was really solid and quite blocky, to create a feathered out finish he used MAC Pro acrylic paint in black with a mascara wand. Pablo pressed this on to the outer corners in a uniformed fashion. This looked so effective and to complete the eyes he applied layers of the 'False Lashes' mascara, keeping it heavy and strong.

As the models brows were really fair, Pablo wanted to enhance them just slightly and to do so he applied the Paint Pot in 'Painterly' with a mascara wand and ran this through the models brows. This warmed them up just slightly without making them to much of a focus.

On the lips Pablo kept it simple with a nude lip gloss in 'Underage'.

ma12

The look was heavily focused on the eyes which turned out amazing, it was so FIERCE - Very Black swan-esque. I really want to recreate this look, I think I would totally rock a modified version of this. I loved how he used minimal products especially on the eyes and came out with this amazing look!  (Obviously all the products mentioned and brushes were MAC)

ma6

The whole event was a lot of fun and it was great to see some familiar faces. Afterwards myself, Shirley and Yinka wandered around soaking up the atmosphere. Here's a few shots of what I wore, standard black with gold accesoried and amy favourite PINK blazer from ZARA.
