// Releasing my inner VAMP

Happy Halloween everyone, sorry I have been lazy at updating this week. I have been busy at work and I also have had friends visiting from Paris so I have been busy spending time with them. Halloween is by far my favourite time of the year, however this year I have no plans.. It will probably be an evening of scary movies and lots of yummy food! I have however been in the mood for halloween since Thursday.. I have been quite literally vamping it up with my nails, make up and jewellry this week.

Nails

I decided to go for dark nails and a blood dripping effect tip. I used to do nail art ALL the time but for the last few years I've stopped after doing this I can see myself getting back into the experimenting. I wanted the base colour to be black but for some reason I couldn't find a black nail polish anywhere. So I went for a navy blue, this is the M&S nail colour in 'Jewel' that I recently did a post on. The red nail polish I used for the tips was Eyeko's 'Saucy' nail polish, this was actually quite easy to achieve the blood effect as the brush is quite thin.

I went out last night and went for dark make up all around. I really love going for a strong lip with a strong eye.. I know people insisit you do one or the other but not me.. plus it's HALLOWEEN!!

// My Favourites from Kiehls

k5

Last week for work I attended a Kiehls training seminar. These are often really informative and interesting, I have to say it was quite fun even though I was exhausted from an early start. It was held at the L'Oreal HQ in Hammersmith. I learnt a lot about the history of Kiehls, which had me really excited about the brand in general. It got me thinking about products I enjoy using from Kiehls, so I thought I'd share them with you.

Creme De Corps

k2

Easily one of Kiehls number one products, this body cream is fantastic. I love the texture, the smell and the ways in which it really hydrates the body. I honestly notice such a glow when I use this, I don't know if I've posted about it before.. I can't remember. However, I used this a lot when I was away on holiday in Egypt and Dubai this summer. I actually used it as an after sun product, I really felt like it enhanced my tan and made my body look radiant. I found out at the training that the Victoria Secret angels use this just before hitting the runway! WOW.. I came home, jumped in the shower got this baby back out. After using it I remembered why I love it so much. It absorbs so well into the skin, without leaving your body feeling greasy or sticky.. something that I find a lot of body hydrators do. If you haven't tried this where have you been hiding!?

Superbly Restorative Argan Body Lotion

k1

This is another body lotion I adore by Kiehls, the consistency is quite leight-weight in comparison to Kiehls Creme de Corps. However the Argan oil is an ingredient that really helps hydrate and protect the body with its' antioxidant properties. It's a really good one at evening out skin tone and helps with scarring. This cream smells amazing as it's scented with essential oils of orange and eucalyptus. So if you like wearing fresh citrus smelling body lotions this one is for you. It really wakes me up in the mornings!

No1.Lipbalm

k4

I have used this for ages now, I remember posting about it and since then I have gone through many of these. My favourite flavours are the Vanilla and the Mango. Not only do they smell amazing, they work so beautifully on the lips. They glide on, moisturise and even give your lips that glossy finish. The only thing I dislike about this product is that you have to apply it with your fingers, so I tend to use this first thing in the morning or just before I go to bed. They also have a sun factor which is important and something you don't find in all lip products.

Silk Groom Serum

k3

Unlike a lot of serums the Kiehls serum is so lightweight and not greasy. This is a major advantage in my eyes as it doesn't weigh down the hair. One thing I hate about serums in general is that although they work wonders in taming the frizz, you apply a teeny bit too much and instead of your hair looking shiny and healthy it ends up look greasy and unwashed. I have never had this problem with the Kiehls Silk Groom, I love to use this when my hair is wet before styling and I sometimes apply it to my hair when it looks particularly dry. This product says its for straightening however, I use it all the time when my hair is wavy, curly or straight!

So there you have it, a few of my favourite Kiehls products. Do you guys like Kiehls? What have you tried? What would you like to try?

Lots of Love

MM

Hello ladies and Happy Monday!? Hope you all had a great weekend.. sorry my posts have been a little slack lately I've just been so busy BUT by next week I should be back on track to more frequent posting.

So as it's Monday you know the drill I talk through the product I've most been loving this week, however today I sort of what to mention something different. If you follow me on Twitter or if you have read my previous post you will know that I began the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.

I have to say it has been pretty tough but I am loving it which I NEVER expected I can never stick to work out videos! However in a weird way I am loving having a routine, a quick 20 minutes of exercise each day. It's a workout I love to HATE.. but I have to say I am feeling physically fitter and seeing small changes ALREADY. I'm not g oing to lie for the first few days I was in so much pain, little things like walking up the stairs and moving my arms hurt so much.. wow! I am now on my 6th day (Which I cannot believe!!) and I'm not feeling the pain as much. I am definetley going to try my hardest to stick this out for the next 20+ days. I am currently on level 1 of the workout from day 10 I will be moving up to the second level. I know a lot of Bloggers/YouTubers have done the 30 day shred and that was what pushed me to give it a go. I really recomend this DVD if you are looking for a quick workout, the moves are basic but the way in which it's put together is pretty intense. If I can do it, anyone can!?

I already feel better inside.. Here's to a good week! I know from my previous post where I mentioned it a few of my readers told me they were going to be following me on my quest to lose weight and feel great? How is it going for you dolls?!

Lots of love..

// M&S 'Silver' and Weekend Chit Chat

lc2

It's been a busy weekend and although I'd planned to blog yesterday that went totally out of the window. Anyway I wanted to share this silver metallic nail polish I picked up in M&S the other day. It is so tacky but there is something about it that I really like, I'm not mad about it.. But I do like it. I almost feel like I have spaceship hands. I don't know if any of you remember that music video by Babylon Zoo - Spaceman.. HAHA when I keep looking at my nails this is what I think of and I try so hard not to sing it! I have to say though this has stayed on my nails so well. I painted them on Thursday night and its now Sunday morning and I still have it on, chip free I applied two coats so that it wasn't patchy. For £2.50 I don't mind if this is a nail polish I don't reach for as often! A lot of people have asked me what topcoat I use and the one I'm currently using and love is the Barry M one. It's cheap and does the job!

Art Chat

photo-15

On Friday night after work I went to the Tate Modern, I love being along the Southbank especially when it's cold and all lit up it has such a christmas feel to it. We had a little walk around and then went to have a look at the Ai Wei Wei exhibition. For those who don't know it's an installation which has taken place in the Turbine Hall of the Tate Modern. 'Sunflower Seeds' is debatable as to wether it could be considered as art. My boy totally didn't get it, however there are over 100 million sunflower seeds that have each been individually hand painted. It's pretty cool you should pop by and have a look if you are passing.

photo-14

I was on the Tate Modern's website reading more about it and I really liked what the curator Juliet Bingham said. So I thought I'd share..

"Each piece is a part of the whole, a commentary on the relationship between the individual and the masses. The work continues to pose challenging questions: What does it mean to be an individual in today's society? Are we insignificant or powerless unless we act together? What do our increasing desires, materialism and number mean for society, the environment and the future?"

Random Ramble

In other rambles I just want to give a mention to my friend Dan from Orlando, he's a friend of a friend and came with us to Miami. He is such a lovely guy and looked out for me the whole time we were over there, we got on so well.

lc6

We used to have the most random chats and one day ended up talking about how expensive it is to buy american cereal like 'Lucky Charms' and 'Fruit Loops' over here. I think there's a sweetshop in Lakeside that sells them for a WHOPPING £6.99 F that! So he said he'd send me some when I was back me thinking he was joking ended up forgetting about it. On Friday now.. I receive this package! Filled will 5 boxes of his favourite cereals. How sweet!

lc5

lc4

He even printed a photo of himself and my BFF in Orlando and stuck it to a box! I miss you guys too.. :((

BUT I am excited to get my munch on now.. I have already opened the lucky charms.. it had to be done! So Daniel if you are reading this thank you very much :)))

How was everyones weekend? What have you all been up to? What are your favourite cereals? Lots of Love

// 900 Followers and a Chit Chat

9001

Hey dolls..Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you AGAIN as I have just reached 900 followers. I can't even explain how happy I am, I enjoy reading all of your comments, recomnedations and advice. Thank you for following, I remember when I had just one follower.. It meant the world that one person actually read what I wrote. Now to think there are 900+ of you reading or passing by is unbelieveable.

In other NON Make-Up news..

I thought I would let you know that I am attempting a strict diet for at least the next month. I have put on a bit of weight over the summer from generally socialising and holidaying here and there.. I just feel it's time to get back on track as I'm not yet where I want to be. It is also a month to my birthday so what better time to kick myself back into shape. I started the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred yesterday and I really want to stick to it. I have to say it is bloody hard.. I am in pain and mega unfit, but I am motivated to attempt the 30 day exercise plan. For those that don't know she is a personal trainer on 'The Biggest Loser' - It is a three level work out video. You are meant to do level 1 for 10 days, level 2 for 10 days and level 3 for 10 days. I am on day two and I am dying, the thought of 30 days of this is definitely challenging, so wish me luck because I need it right now! Getting back on the healthy eating plan is also difficult so it's goodbye to Lola's Red Velvet cupcakes and hello to Weight Watchers victoria sponge cakes. (again!) Hope you will follow me on this journey (For as long as it lasts lol!)

Hope you are all having a fab week.. I have some posts lined up but have been so busy with working late etc, that I haven't had a chance to finish them off. I know I have had a lot of reader requests so I will be trying my hardest to do some of those. If there is anything you want to see leave me a comment and I will try my best!

Stay tuned..

Lots of Love and appreciation

// NARS - 'Purple Rain'

pr1

I can't help but sing the song as I write this.. PURPLE RAINNN. This gorgeous colour was released last fall by NARS and one of my good friends Sophie gave this bad boy to me. I have to admit I had only swatched it and today was the first time I applied it. WHY? I don't know it is so beautiful. The thing I love most is that it comes out exactly how it appears in the bottle, CHANEL take notes!

I had so many comments on this colour today and I think again, it's perfect for this time of year. I just wish one thing, that it didn't chip as quickly as it has. I haven't really been a fan of metallic/shimmery nails but I am slowly swaying. With colours like this and Illamasqua's Viridian I am almost converted. It really reminds me of a Barry M one I used to wear in my teens, I'm not sure if they still make it and I have no idea what the colour is? Does anyone know?

pr3

[This is how pretty it is under natural light]

Off the subject, but semi on the subject.. Have you noticed how every year someone on the X Factor sings 'Purple Rain'. I think my all time favourite has to be Ruth Lorrenzo, I loved her performance in case you haven't seen it or don't remember here it is.

What do you think? What are your must have colours for AW10? Who are you routing for on X factor this year?

Lots of Love

// M&S Nail Colour - 'Jewel'

ms3

So there I was in Marks and Spencers doing some food shopping and I came across this gorgeous colour. I have bought M&S nail polishes before and I was quite happy with them, especially as they are only £2.50. This blue is beautiful it is so deep, but has more of a purple tone to it. I applied two coats and it has been on my nails since Saturday and so far so good, they haven't chipped. What I like about this colour is that it's dark and perfect for this time of the year, but without being as dark or as flat as black. Don't get me wrong I like black nails but I just think colours like this have more depth to them. I also found with one coat this colour comes out more deep purple and with two (as you can see in the pics) this nail polish comes out more navy. Either way I really like it.. GO M&S!!

I also bought another colour from M&S that I'm sure I'll be sharing some point soon so look out for that! They really have some lovely colours and at £2.50 you can't really go wrong. Have any of you tired the M&S polishes? What do you think? What colours are you wearing this A/W?

MM

Hey lovelies hope you all had a lovely weekend! I can't believe how cold it's got all of a sudden here in London, I was freezing today. I hate this time of year I never want to do anything, I want to be at home in the warmth. Anyways back to my Monday favourite. The product I have been loving and using over the last week, which I said i'd review and hadn't got round to is...

MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash

maczfl3

I seriously can't believe I am actually using and LOVING a MAC mascara, now all of you will know I am such a big MAC fan but let's face it the mascaras are just so FAIL. I have never got on with them, so I don't pay much attention to them. I was actually given this mascara in my goody bag at the MAC bloggers event. I have used this all week and I am so pleasantly suprised. Firstly it is so easy to apply, the brush disperses the mascara so evenly and it doesn't clump the lashes at all. This mascara really seperates and lengthen your lashes and I really find my lashes look a lot fuller. The other thing I love about this mascara is that it is REALLY, REALLY BLACK. It's so dramatic, I mean it stands out quite a lot on my lashes and my natural lashes are quite dark, this would look amazing on someone with light eyes. WOWS. I think the only thing that I dislike about this mascara is that it is really wet and takes a while to dry.. hence the messy application. This is something I can deal with it doesn't bother me too much. Anyways here are some pics.

[Apologies for the messy mascara application]

Have any of you tried this mascara? How do you guys get on with MAC mascaras? What are you lot loving this week?

Happy Monday dolls.. here's to a good week
