My perfect bath..
3/20/2010 11:35:00 pm
I am such a shower girl, I love love love showers. I wish I would love baths as much as I did showers, well lately I have developed a love for baths again. There are two amazing bath products that I have been using that have helped me rediscover my love for having a nice soak in the tub.
Lately I have been soo tired and achey, I really think that I am coming down with something. A few weeks ago at work I had training with a woman from the brand Aromatherapy Associates. These training workshops are amazing, you really get to know a lot behind the brand, the products and the ways in which they work. I found the training so helpful and insightful that I was instantly drawn to the products in the brand. She gave me a few samples to take away and after using them I had to buy one. Wow.. this is the De-stress muscle, bath and shower oil. What I love most about these oils is that they can be used both in the bath and in the shower, which is perfect for someone like me who finds themselves showering more so.
In order to gain the most from the oils
For Bath : Empty a cap full in to a hot bath, water already run.
For Shower : Apply oil to the body and areas that feel tired/lethargic.
There are many different oils in this collection that target different aspects of relaxation. This one is more specific to muscular de stress which is good for me as I suffer from arthritis in my wrists and elbows. This oil has really helped me unwind. The key essential oils in this one are Lavender, Rosemary and Ginger. It does smell very strong and really sends you in to your own world. In the bath I can really drift away and let the oils do their job! I thought in the shower it wouldn't work as well, because obviously you're standing. I was wrong. It was just as effective. It really is hard trying to explaining how these oils work, all I know is that they do.

Last week I had strained my neck and I massaged this oil into my neck and it really did ease the pain. I love these oils and seems everyone is enjoying my AA oils too, look how much is left! I will definetley be purchasing more from this range. Aromatherapy Associates is used in a lot of spas, I went to one in February and all the oils they used were from them and trust me they really do help you just shut down and enjoy deep relaxation. It says that the oils should last approx for 20 baths, at £35 I wouldn't use all the time.. just when I feel I need some extra TLC.
Have any of you tried Aromatherapy Associates? What do you think of them? Do you guys use any other aromatherapy brands? Any recommendations.
The other bath product I've been using is totally opposite to the deep relaxation of Aromatherapy Associates. It's the Laura Mercier honey bath in creme d' pistache.
I don't know how many of you have smelt the Laura Mercier body and bath range, even if all you do is smell.. I URGEEEEEEEEE you to just have a whiff. Oh M G.. mmmm! Initially I was in love with the creme brulee range. It's sooo sweet and perfect for really treating yourself. Every-time I smell any of these products I actually want to eat myself. The products are oh so sickly sweet but in the most amazing way possible, I'm actually drooling trying to describe them hahah! I never really liked the pistachio but it has grown on me it is nutty and smells beautiful. The honey bath is perfect for that girly bath complete with a magazine, music and a candle! mmm! It really is such a luxury bath product and I've been uhming and ahhing about it for a while, then I was given one as a present :D. I am loving this so much that I am defo going to be purchasing the body souffle.. [Body cream] I know my girl Tali uses it and I apply this on the daily when I'm at work.. so think it's time to be mine.
What bath isn't complete with a candle. My candle of the moment is Diptyque's Black Baises.
Online description : This sophisticated fragrance of a rose garden ideally balanced by the cool fruitness of blackcurrant leaves is one of the most famous Diptyque lines.
It smells gorgeous, what's nice about it is that it's not too sweet smelling and burns for hours! Approx 60 hours, the best thing about Diptyque candles is that I have never experienced any other candle that disperses the fragrance as much as these! They are fab candles.. Baises and Figuier are my favoruites!
I want to know all your bath/shower favourites!? Please note guys I don't use these on the daily I am quite happy with my Dove shower gels :). These to me are luxury products that come out when I'm having 'one of those days!'
Supermarket beauty isles - Maybelline 'Falsies'
3/20/2010 03:42:00 pm
I don't know why I feel the need to FIND something to purchase when I'm in the cosmetic isles of the supermarkets. It just doesn't feel right leaving with nothing! So yesterday when I was in good ol Sainsburys, I saw the new Maybelline 'falsies' Volume express mascaras. I never believe the ridiculous adverts of some of these cosmetics companys and if you've seen this one you know what I'm talking about.. but OH WELL.. its all about trying them out to see what best suits you. I have tried LOADS of mascaras but in the last year I always seem to revert back to Max factor false lash effect, with that being said I am still always on the look out for something new.
This one retails at £7.99 but was on promotion for £5.99.
I like the curved brush of this mascara..Just really allows you to get in there for maximum lift. The end of the mascara wand is slightly flexi again allowing you to really get in there to extend and curl the lashes.
Overall I am not sure about this mascara! It seems to lengthen and space out my lashes more than anything else. My lashes are naturally long so I prefer a mascara to volumise and although this mascara is meant to be volumising i've used others that do a better job. I feel as if my lashes look a bit spikey and spidery.. Hmm Not convinced!
This is the mascara with one coat.
[Please excuse the tired eye close ups that follow eeek!]
And two coats.. its getting there..
For a lengthening mascara I think this would be fab, but volumising? I'm not so sure.. Have any of you guys tried this mascara? Or thinking of trying it? Think I will just pass this on to one of my auntys, let them see if it works for them.. I will give it another go this weekend and let you know if my thoughts change!
I do feel slightly let down by this mascara although my hopes weren't too high in the first place!
What are your current faves in the mascara department?!
Lots of Love
Salmon Nails
3/20/2010 01:51:00 pm
I have honestly changed my nail colour about 4 times this week. I have to say the colour I am wearing at the moment I am LOVING right now.. I plan to keep it on for the whole weekend. To me in the bottle it looks salmon pink against my skin tone it looks like the perfect blend of peach and coral. The sun was out this week and I got carried away with colour.. now it's gone again :( so my nails will have to brighten up my weekend!
This colour is by Rococo Nail Apparel and is called 'Starlet'. My nails were also at such a great length, but me being me..I decided to cut them. I haven't cut them for ages.. I tend to file and shape them up instead. It was getting to the point where my nails weren't growing nicely. I really like short nails and although my hands look chubbier lol.. I really don't mind.
One product I always use before redoing my nails is 'The Body Shop's' almond oil nail and cuticle treatment. This oil comes in a pen format so is nice and easy to brush on to the nails. I tend to massage it in and leave it for a little whilst allowing my nails some breathing time. I love the smell of almond oil.. its so yum! It has also really helped me to maintain the strength of my nails. I used to have such weak nails due to years of acrylic and if it wasn't for my trustee almond oil my nails wouldn't be in the condition they are now. So thank you :)
This product is around £5.. [I think] But honestly lasts for AGES! I use it all the time and its keeps on going!
What colours are you dolls wearing? I love finding out!? Mine were bright red before this salmon!
ZAZA FOTD.. Skulls, Haters and a bit of a rant!

MAC Spring Colour Forecast
3/09/2010 03:27:00 pm
I am sure you guys are sick of seeing hauls and reviews from the latest MAC collections. I am not going to review anything at the moment because other than swatching them at the MAC counter I haven't yet used them. I was mainly attracted to the ombre blushes. They are beautiful, such lovely colours that blend in light to dark shades. I am so impressed by the size of these blushes, for those who haven't seen them the size is more comparable to the MSF's than the blushers.
Collection 1
Blush Ombre in Azalea Blossom
A perfect pretty pink that blends into a lilac. My fiance picked this one for me he said he liked the colour lol, but my mum liked it so I gave it to her. I will be using it though ;) when I get my hands on it.
Collection 2
Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach
This is such an amazing colour, perfect for spring. I know how quickly they sold out online and I know Selfridges sold out on Friday. It's a lovely warm coral colour, well that's what it is like on my skin tone. I have seen this on a few posts and its looking great girls!
I will be doing some looks with these in the week, just thought I'd share with you what I got. My fiance also picked me up Collection 3, e/s quad, but all the colours were so similar to those I already have I thought it would be wasteful to keep them! I was good and got him to return it.
What have you ladies been buying from the new collections? Anyone using the ombre blushes? What are your thoughts dolls?
Saturday Night.. MakeUp
3/08/2010 11:03:00 pm
On Saturday night it was one of my close friends birthdays. There's 4 of us in total who have stayed good friends since school days and although we are all quite busy these days its so much fun when we get together. My friend Mel called me up at around 5 to go round and do make up duty! lol.. This is what my friends put me through can you imagine me trying to grab minimal makeup, brushes etc. I literally had 10 minutes to do the birthday girl priya and mel's makeup. I can't believe I don't have one pic of the birthday girl..she was so busy having a great time I couldn't even snap a pic!
I went for an Indigo smokey eye.. Using MAC's 'Graphology' and MAC's 'Contrast'. For my blush I used NARS 'Torrid' and MAC 'Enough Said'. I highlighted with MAC's MSF in 'Champagne'. On my lips I used MAC'S 'Blankety' Mixed with 'Magenta' lip liner.
We went to a really cool bar 'CALLOOH CALLAY" in Shoreditch, just on Rivington street. The decor was so amazing, really retro. This is me outside the toilets.. I love the WALLS how fab.. SO old school!
I wore Topshop Jeggings, Miss selfridge vest, Alexander McQueen scarf, Oasis leather jacket, Laced up heels from a boutique in Greenwich and my crystal spider necklace.
This is me and my girl Zaz have no idea what we were looking at/talking about.. lol I love a natural pic!
Me and my gorgeous Mel.. She usually goes for a dark lip and minimal eyes, we decided to switch it up a little. Smoked out her eyes just a bit, enough to make them pop! She has the most amazing green eyes!! Such a beaut..
Me and Zaz through the walls! Loving mirrored walls!
Someone ordered this for the birthday girl.. Check out that fish bowl, how quirky.. A lot of drunken ladys were the result of this.. Times like this I'm happy I don't drink :P haha..
How was everyones weekend..!? What did everyone get upto? What makeup did you dolls rock?
