I'm the definition of a hairdresser's worst nightmare..
For years I repeatedly dye my hair black then suddenly decide I want to go lighter for Summer - yep that's me! After 8 hours VOILA this is my new hair! I have the amazing Marlon at Brooks & Brooks Salon to thank for his patience and of course this masterpiece. It's balayaged mainly around the front of my face, it took two rounds of bleach and 3 hair colours to create my new look and I'm loving it!
For someone who used to have a pretty low maintenance/virtually non existent hair care regime I've had to now step it up!
Within about a week of having my new hair colour it became brassy (to be expected). I knew I had to start incorporating a purple shampoo into my hair routine but with so many on the market I was confused. I decided on 3 products from PRO:VOKE Touch of Silver a range designed to brighten blondes and eliminate brassiness. I use the Pre-Toning Primer spray on damp hair and I usually brush it through in the shower with my Hairon De-tangling Hairbrush. I then apply the Brightening Shampoo, I massage this into my hair, let it lather, then leave it in, un-rinsed for up to 5 minutes. I then wash it out and follow with the Intensive conditioner, while my usual hair wash was a quick shampoo and conditioner I'm learning to be a little more patient with this 3step routine. I absolutely adore the PRO:VOKE products they instantly softened the tone of my hair from the very first wash. I've also been warned that purple shampoo can dry out your hair but so far these products have left my hair feeling hydrated and soft all without looking less O-range.
Once a week I up my game and leave the PhytoElixir Intense Nutrion Mask on my hair for a deep condition. This product is rich in macadamia oil it smells divine and keeps my hair feeling strong and looking healthy.
In regards to styling I'm taking extra caution I have religiously been using the PhytoKératine Extrême cream on the ends of my hair before I proceed to style. This is fantastic for brittle and damaged hair so again gives me that added strength, my weak bleached hair needs. I always use a heat protector and I'm still loving Vidal Sassoon's Heat Shape. I like this one because it's light and doesn't weigh my hair down. For the days when I let my hair naturally dry curly absolutely love using the Kérestase Oléo-Curl this really helps to define my curls whilst also eliminating any frizz.
Before I sleep I've been religiously using the Phyto's Secret de Nuit this cream based serum helps to hydrate the hair, restoring moisture and what I like most is that it doesn't make your hair greasy in the mornings.
Every now and then I like to add a touch of the Sachajuan Hair Fragrance, this gives your hair that ultimate salon smell that you walk out the hairdressers with - it's divine and reminds me of Dubai. Ok it's a little luxury but I've been using this bottle for the last year, a little goes a long way.
Time and time again I'm asked about what straighteners I use and for the last 3/4 years I have been loyal to my Cloud Nine Touch Hair Straighteners. I use these when my hair is straight (OBVS, DUH) but also when my hair is waved out. I absolutely adore these irons, they glide through the hair so effortlessly and leave my hair feeling super smooth. Best of all The Touch automatically switches itself off. I used to forever worry if I'd left the straighteners on and now I always have peace of mind haha. If you purchase these white ones £10 goes towards Great Ormand St Hospital, charity aside I can't recommend them enough.
So there you have it.. that really is HELLA HAIR CARE!
