Contour Creams | Topshop Beauty

Now I’ve told you this before and I’m about to tell you this again - Contouring scares me!

Yes, it does. Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of being able to sculpt and define your natural features but I’ve seen so many extremes, where contouring completely transforms someones look and I'm not about that. I love make up and I like to enhance what I've got but I don't want to change my face - I mean I still want to look like me! Because of this I usually stay clear of contouring, if you’ve watched any of my make up tutorials you will know that I tend to warm up and softly shape my face with a bronzer. I’ve tried contouring powders before and I like them but it's not a step I stick to in my everyday make up routine.

When Topshop sent over their Contour Creams to try I wasn’t sure how I felt about them. Firstly if you’ve followed me for a while you’ll know I’m not too fond of cream products. Secondly I thought that applying a cream would appear too obvious on my skin.

After having a play I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The consistency is smooth, light and they don’t feel heavy on the skin. I also found that they blend in really well and set to a powder-like finish. I applied the product with a MAC 188 Small Duo Fibre brush, I’ve seen many make up artists use this brush for contouring, it allows you to place the product in a soft, natural and almost airbrushed way.

They come in two shades 'Sweep' a warm brown and 'Swerve' a deeper brown - I have to say both worked well against my complexion, I think for a slightly subtle contour I would opt for 'Sweep' and for a more defined look I would choose 'Swerve'. I didn’t expect to like the Topshop Contour Creams as much as I did but they are well pricedworth checking out and pretty fool proof if you ask me!

If contouring scares you, as it does me this is a great product to get you comfortable with carving out those cheekbones.
