MAC X Cinderella, my inner child's dream!
Despite feeling somewhat overwhelmed by make up this week, receiving exclusives of new MAC Collections always seems to reignite my love for beauty. My excitement reminds me of university days, when I would queue up outside the MAC store waiting for the new collections to launch. The MAC Cinderella Collection definitely brought out my inner child. I love the light blue, almost pearlised packaging it's always a little special when MAC stray away from their iconic black boxes.
I was bedazzled by the beauty of Coupe d'Chic is a pretty, peach tone powder with an obvious gold shimmer/sparkle - it's naturally the kind of colour I would gravitate towards. In terms of pigment, there was little colour pay off against my complexion which was slightly disappointing. Once brushed along the cheekbones as a highlighter it gives you a a subtle, sweep of shimmer that catches light beautifully - it's very soft, sweet and Cinderella-Esque.
Alone this lipstick was a no no for me, it was so frosty against my complexion. It looked as if I was an ice queen that should star in Frozen! (No exaggeration). I think this lipstick will only work (alone) on fairer skin tones. It's a lustre finish and has little colour to it, when swatched it's a sheer gold. When all fails the only way to make it work is to whip out a lip liner - I filled in my lips with MAC's Soar so my lips were rosier this was the ideal base for this lipstick. I absolutely loved the finished result a gorgeous, nudey pink - Maybe a little Modesty-esque.
The MAC and Cinderella Collection is available in the UK exclusively to Harrods on the 6th March and all other MAC counters from the 13th March.
I've got lots of exciting new MAC collections to share with you and will be scattering them throughout the next week!
Will you be checking out this collection? In all honesty I was a little disappointed with the richness in colour from the products I tried in this collection. Personally, I think MAC should collaborate with all Disney princesses, OH what I'd give for a Jasmine one - I'd be all over that!
Lots of Love
