On minimal make up days when it comes to the lips, it's often about hydration and a touch of colour - That's when my nude balms come out to play..
Despite having to regularly test, try and apply make up as part of my job a lot of the time I'm working from home wearing the minimal. Even on the weekends I tend to stick to no make up, or at the very most tinted moisturiser. On those days I like to keep my lips hydrated with a little bit of colour - these are my favourite nude balms, that I use in rotation.
Maybelline Baby Lips 'Peach Kiss'
Who doesn't like Baby Lips? They have a great feel on the lips, add a light wash of colour and are easy to use on the go. This tends to stay in my make up bag while I'm on the move, there's no need to prod fingers in a pot so it's ideal - The colour is pretty and peachy.
Rimmel Colour Rush Balm 'Keep Mauving'
I first discovered these about two years ago and out of all the stick balms I've tried these are my favourites. The colour pay off is great and they keep your lips soft and moisturised for hours. I really love the shade of this balm as it's a nude brown with a more mauve tone to it.
By Terry Baume de Rose 'Toffee Cream'
Baume de Rose has been my luxury lip product of choice for the last 5 years. Last year when Terry launched the balm in an array of colours I knew they'd be the perfect choice for those days where I'm wearing less make up. The texture is rich and instantly feels luxurious on the lips. 'Toffee Cream' is a soft caramel brown which gives my lips a slight hint of colour but primarily hydration.
Wild About Beauty NutriLips Balm 'Alice'
I've tried a few products by Wild About Beauty but never made it to blog about them. The texture of the NutriLips is nourishing and the finish has a slight sheen. If you know me you'll know I don't like glosses mainly because they are sticky and messy. This balm gives me the effect of gloss but without the fuss, it's a soft peach tone and so lovely on the lips.
INGLOT Lip Paint '62'
This is probably the most pigmented out of my picks - It's described as a lip paint, the colour is quite prominent, although the texture is unlike any other lip paint I've tried. The consistency is light on the lips and I find it comforting to wear, the finish is glossy but it's not sticky like most lip paints/lacquers. It's ideal for applying alone, or over a lip liner/lipstick. '62' is a warm brown with a reddish/plum tone to it and I love it!
Gotta love a good balm and these are my bunch! What are your favourites?
Lots of Love
