The £3 Lip Stain you NEED!

Let's face it, I'm quite hard to please when it comes to lip stains - I have high expectations - real talk!

Since discovering the Sephora Cream Lip Stains almost 6 years ago, they've been my go-to, my holy grail matte lip product. They've also set the standard for matte lip stains for me, don't get me wrong I'll try them all but I know deep down the Sephora ones tick a box that no others have!

Anyways let's move on to this discovery, I was in Superdrug browsing (as you do) and I spotted this! MUA's Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer - I swatched away and was instantly intrigued. I decided not to buy the standard red because nothing will really, ever take the place of 'Always Red' by Sephora. However when I spot 'Kooky' it was inevitable I'd buy it and at £3 it was a no brainer! Seriously what a bargain!. It's beautiful, bright purple - I don't think I have anything similar to this shade in my make up collection. (possibly the Revlon Matte Balm in 'Shameless'?) It's vibrant, it's bold and has ME written all over it!

I couldn't wait to try it, although my hopes for the texture (etc.) weren't particularly high. I can now say that this has to be my favourite drugstore lip stain I've come across. I love the applicator, it's firm and allows you to easily apply the product. The consistency is perfect - it's not too wet and instead it's creamy as soon as you apply it. It mattifies well and lasts for hours on the lips. I'll be honest and say it's a little tacky in texture but for £3 I can get over that!  I'm well and truly mad about 'Kooky' such a random discovery and now that I know what to expect I will definitely go and check out some of the other shades.

I don't think I've tried anything from MUA but I'm super impressed with this lip stain - what a beaut!

Have any of you tried these? Check them out HERE
