Now my hair's that little bit shorter (Sassier, I say) I'm all about re-establishing my love with hair products. So today I'm talking texture, movement and messiness!
I have a love/hate relationship with hair products, I initially love how they work but then the majority end up weighing it down and leaving it worse off than before. I don't know if it's this new cut, which I talked about HERE but it generally seems to hold on to products much better.
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray
This is still a favourite of mine and I love to use this when my hair is slightly damp. I spritz it in my hair upside down and then blast it with the hairdryer. By applying it just before my hair is dry works really well at giving my hair added texture. I also use it on dry hair, as most people do it's great if your hair is a day old, spritz it through the roots and rough it up with you fingers - you get that great VA VA VOOM Volume!
Boots Added Volume Mousse
Mousse is such an old school product and it reminds me of my teenage years when I would scrunch it into my hair on a daily basis (Crunchy curls indeed). For years I've associated moose with curls and waves and I didn't realise how great it is to create movement for straight styles. Boots own brand moose has become a favourite after reading a Sally Hughes article in The Guardian years ago - it's great! Once my wet hair is combed through, I take a pump and smooth it from root to tips. I then dry my hair, I often like to tip my hair so I can get as much volume from the root as possible - This adds messiness which is how I most like to wear my hair with this style.
Bumble and Bumble Prêt-a-Powder
When it comes to finishing touches, it's about Bumble and Bumbles Pret-a-Powder, I have been trying to revisit products I've featured in the past to let you know if I still feel the same. This is one of those products I still love and still use it - It's amazing! It's a dry powder and is the ideal product for using to tweak things at the last minute, it's adds texture which is perfect. It instantly absorbs oil making it a great alternative to dry shampoo!
Since I first discovered this about two years ago my whole life changed. no. literally. I never used to brush my hair, it always felt like a chore - This makes it easy and effortless to do! It's great for getting out the knots, adding volume and using in the shower to brush in your conditioner. I am very rarely without my Tangle Teezer these days and this one is perfect for travelling with.
What are you current hair heroes? Have any of you tried any of these?
