Obsessed - The Balm, Meet Matt(e) Nude.

This year has definitely been the year of matte eyeshadows for me, I don't know what it is maybe it's the old age getting to me ha - BUT I have too often reached for matte eyeshadows over the shimmers. There's been one palette which has dominated my daily eyeshadow choices and I can't remember the last time I used anything else (This being the Smashbox Full Exposure) Well all that changed when I made the recent discovery of the Balm Cosmetics  there's now a new palette on the block which I just can't put down - 'Meet Matt(e) Nude.

I brought this palette to Dubai with the intention of 'giving it a go' and from the first time I tried it I've not been able to use anything else. It's my ideal colour palette with plenty of warm toned eyeshadows that are perfect for creating an everyday neutral look or an evening sultry, smokey eye. I've even worn colours from this palette that I never expected to - like the off-white 'Matt Malloy' and the peach 'Matt Singh'. Typically my favourite colours are 'Matt Garcia' a chocolate brown, 'Matt Rosen' a warm, golden brown and 'Matt Wood' a deep cocoa. I love how you can get such a beautiful gradient of colour from using these shadows.

Here's just one of the looks I created using the variations of brown mentioned above, the texture of the eyeshadows are dreamy - they blend so effortlessly and allow you to create such gorgeous looks. As you know I'm a sucker for packaging and this is something I love from all of  the Balm cosmetics products - They are all fun, animated and come with quirky names. I have a feeling that this palette is going to be featured a lot in the forthcoming months. I am also using the Balm cosmetics bronzer 'Bahama Mama' and the 'Mary Lou-Mainzer' highlighter (both worn here) but more on those another time, for now I wanted to share my love on a palette that has become a fast favourite.

Have any of you tried this palette or any of the Balm's products, from all the products I've tried recently  there's a lot of loving going on!

  1. I have had my eye on this palette from the Balm for a good long while, good matte shadow palettes are so hard to come across. You look stunning Zara as always! That lip colour is also perfection.
