I never really jumped on the HD Brows bandwagon, believe it or not - I'm super lazy when it comes to brows!
I've threaded my own brows and plucked the odd hair since I was probably 14 years old. I've been through the works with mine. There were days when I thought it was cool to have non existent brows which consisted of a line of 6 hairs (no joke) - luckily/unluckily for me I'm hairy so they grew back, something I am now I'm eternally grateful for. If you've seen any of my make up tutorials when I'm barefaced my brows patchy and slightly unruly - I also have a scar in my right brow where no hair has grown since I was a child.
I've used all sorts on my brows and only recently have I rediscovered HD Brows. I previously used their eyebrow quad which could be doubled up as eyeshadows - good stuff! In all honesty I didn't stick with it because it was only a matter of time till I found love for some other brow product.
Recently I have been using the Brow pencil and the Brow gel in the shade vamp - all I can say is wow!
The pencil is so precise and the formula is quite hard so it allows you to mimic hair strokes very easily. I tend to just follow in the shape of my brows filling in the gaps and this is such a great product to do that with. I find the end result very natural, my brows don't look too heavily filled in or obviously drawn on. I would say the tone is a touch warmer than Anasatasia's Brow Wiz in Ebony, this was a product I loved using but the HD Brow pencil could be it's new rival!
Another product I was blown away by is HD Brows eyebrow gel, now I often like to finish off my brows with a gel, I find it sets them well and also gives them more of a life-like look as it emphasises the hairs. All the brow gels I've used in the past are quite wet and end up looking like I've smeared a whole lot of hair gel on them. The consistency of this brow gel is much drier, it almost feels like a cream product. It grips on to the hairs smooths them out and the added colour reinforces the boldness. I love how this wears over hours, other brow gels have made hairs crispy (If you know what I mean) but this one works so well at keeping them in place throughout the day. I'm super impressed by it and would really recommend it for those of you who find it hard to tame your brows! For the days where I'm wearing minimal make up I think this would be enough to use on my brows alone (with the exception of my scar).
I'm really happy with these two brow discoveries, I'm sure you will see them in tutorials in the future! Let me know if you would like to see a more in depth video on my brows!
I also found out HD Brows do more than just brows, I have been using one of their highlighters and it is INCREDIBLE! Expect a post on that very soon!
What do you like for your brows? How do you take care of them?
Lots of love
