The Budget Brow

You know it happens every time right? You go in to the drugstore for one thing and you end up with a basket full of unnecessary but somehow necessary items. Well that's what happened to me, I was picking up last minute bits for my holiday and I came across this brow pen from Barry M

When people ask me about my brows, I don't really know what to say - I'm naturally hairy! I never used to bother filling in my brows because they've always been thick and naturally dark (Other than that time when I was 14 and though it would be a good idea to pluck them all off but that's another story!) I only started to fill them in because of a scar I have on my right eyebrow, it's been there since I was a child and no hair grows there. When big brows became the IN thing a few years ago, I embraced it! Since then I've use powders, pencils but nothing like this - a liquid eyebrow marker!?

The brow marker pen by Barry M has quite a chunky nib so initially I was worried I'd end up looking like a cartoon character with horrifically drawn on brows! Surprisingly I found it really easy to create fine strokes which gave my brows an overall uniformed look. I was also unsure how the liquid would sit on my scar but it didn't look bad at all - I was actually quite impressed.

For £4.99 It's a bit of a bargain, compared to £21 for the Kevyn Aucoin Eyebrow Pencil!

I bought this in dark brown which is just right!

Have any of you tried this or any other eyebrow markers? I heard the GOSH one is also quite good!?

  1. I own this and have used it a couple of times but i think i am more of a powder girl, this felt bit uncomfortable for me. using pigment i think makes it look more natural.

  2. I wish we had Barry M in the US, Ah I'm so jealous of all the awesome makeup brands in the UK! Does it hold up well? I wonder if it doubles as eyeliner, that would be pretty cool, I love things that have multiple uses. Brows are my weak spot, I never feel like they look good so I'm always trying out tons of new things, I wonder if they have something similar like that over here (:

  4. I've not tried a marker, and I'll agree that the marker looks scarily chunky! My brows aren't naturally big, so I'm not sure how this would work on my brows :( I'll have to see in store at just how thin you can get the strokes! :)

  6. I absolutely swear by the GOSH one, I've been using it for years and years. I always use it on the arch and the tail, and then fill in the middle and beginning of my brows with a powder for a more natural look!
