High End VS. High Street - Pore Perfecting Primers

po

I suffer from quite large pores and despite what you may see on camera I have quite an even skin tone. Lately I have been playing with pore refining primers and today I thought I would give you my opinions on a High End Vs. High Street comparison of Benefit's POREfessional and Maybelline's Baby Skin

Benefit - POREfessional Pro Balm
I started using this product a few weeks ago and despite mixed reviews I'm really enjoying using it. The texture is silky against the skin and will instantly smooth out any imperfections. I do suffer from quite large pores, especially on my cheeks and this conceals that, correcting my uneven skin tone. My skin is quite dry and I was a little worried this product would emphasise that, but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't. I found using this as a primer really successful, it held on to my make up and stayed put all day. I actually had a small mini size that I brought with me to Barcelona and have been using this since I got here. I like the slight tint this product has and it's really ideal for flawless foundation application.  The POREfessional can be used under or over your foundation.

This product is lightly scented (pleasant!)

Maybelline - Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
This product is very similar to the Benefit POREfessional, the first difference however, is the consistency which is more of a gel, this then mattifies once blended into the skin. I find the formula is a touch heavier on the skin (not in a bad way) it feels more hydrating which would be good for those who suffer from dry skin. Again this product disguises imperfections and minimises pores as a result of it's 'Blur' technology. The Maybelline Baby Skin again lasts on the skin I don't find it has the same longevity as POREfessional. Baby Skin will still give you the same finish to the skin and is an affordable alternative to the Benefit.

This product is fragrance free

Both the products are silicone based which I know some people are against as it can clog up your pores. My defence to that is 'as long as you're removing your make up you're good!' Silicone is what gives both of these products that gorgeous velvet feeling against the skin it's a bittersweet relationship I tell you! I find the best way to use both of these primers is to pat on to the skin and proceed to sweep

Flawless foundation is that you? YES! I must admit I love that smooth, matte finish to the skin, however I personally prefer to use these primers on a night out as opposed to on a daily basis.

Have any of you tried these?

Lots of love
