Another fabulous week on the make up front, I have had so many new arrivals land on my desk that I feel slightly overwhelmed. I also went to a few events and got to celebrate the launches of some new products. My skin has been awful this last week, I suffered from an allergic reaction which left my skin looking and feeling terrible.
I prepped my skin with Benefit's Porefessional, I haven't used this before but I went to a Birchbox/Lulu Guiness event last night and was sent away with loads of goodies. I was really excited to try this product as I do suffer from quite large pores, I found it amazing at smoothing out the skin, it feels like velvet once applied and it has the perfect matte finish. I didn't know whether I would get on with this product as my skin is quite dry and I feared it would make my make up look cakey but surprising it didn't! On top of this I applied NARS Sheer Glow Foundation which is my current favourite it is a touch warmer than my skin tone, but Spring is my justification. I then applied the Tarte Maracuja Concealerwhich is gorgeous, the coverage is incredible and as Tarte is launching SOON in the UK I thought WHY NOT!? To set my base I used a small amount of Ben Nye's Banana Powder, I didn't feel like I needed much of this because of the Porefessional base really grips the foundation nicely. For a pop of colour on my cheeks I applied the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blusher in Fearless, it's a pretty pink perfect for sunny days. I added a sweep of Elizabeth Arden's Rose Gold highlighter to my cheekbones, this was limited edition from a few years ago, it's so precious. For my eyes it was all about the Tarte Sultry Sunset Palette I used this and only this, it's such a gorgeous collection of warm, wearable shades. I decided to try the new Bourjois KHOL Mascara, it has an hourglass shaped brush, I think it's one of those mascaras that gets better over time - So far I prefer it for my lower lashes. For brows it was time for something new so I used Illamsqua's Brow cake in Thunder I actually thought the colour would be too light for me as I have really dark brows but it worked so well, I used this with the Illamasqua angled eye brow brush which is lovely. On my lips I used the Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom these are super hydrating and the colour is effortless on the lips.
