Bourjois - Rouge Edition Velvet

Let's talk Lip Stain I am somewhat critical when it comes to trying matte lip stains, if you are a frequent reader/viewer you will know for the last three years or so the Sephora Cream Lip Stains have well and truly held a strong place in my heart and it's hard for any other product to come close! When it comes to trying other brands and their versions I am forever comparing them to these, so when I heard Bourjois were soon to be launching a selection of lip stains I had to put them to the test.

The texture is at first, creamy and smooth, they dry to a soft matte finish and come in an array of 8 amazing shades. In regards to longevity I don't feel they lasted AS long on the lips as they claim to and the colours aren't as rich and intense as some matte lip stains I've tried. I do like the feel on the lips, which is quite comforting and not as drying as some lip stains tend to be. I must be honest and say I found the consistency a little tricky to work with, they were a little patchy to apply and required layering.

Frambourjoise (2) - A pink, raspberry toned red.

Hot Pepper (3) - A bright orange red.

Personne ne rouge! (1) - A timeless, true red.

Grand Cru (8) - A dark burgundy based red.

At £8.99 these are an affordable alternative to some of the higher end lip stains and they do remind me of the YSL ones in many ways. I like the cute, small packaging which is ideal for popping in your make up bag. I do think they are worth a try!

The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet launches in the UK mid April. Will you be checking these out?

Lots of Love
