Brighten Those Bags!

br

Now colour correctors and highlighters can be used in many ways but today I wanted to share with you my favourites when it comes to brightening underneath the eyes. I suffer from mild insomnia and as a result over the last few months the dark circles under my eyes have become increasingly apparent. It's something that tends to get me quite down because it's a problem that's out of my control and there's little I can do. I have found a few products which help me feel less conscious about my panda eyes - These correct the colour and add instant brightness.

By Terry Eclat de Teint - Halogen Apricot
If you are a regular reader of MouldyFruit you will know how much I love this product, it's a quick and easy fix to correcting and neutralising colour underneath the eyes. The texture is light and it instantly adds light reflective brightness.

MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter - Bright Forecast
I first used this product almost a year ago when I was in Dubai and getting for dinner with Laura she made me try it and I fell in love.  It's so great for adding radiance and instant light to the skin. I love how easy this pen-style highlighter is to sweep under the eyes and I use it prior to the application of concealer. It can be used in multiple ways, including over make up but I personally prefer it to Prep + Prime the skin.

Laura Mercier Under Eye Perfecter - Orange/Yellow
This is my go to product for getting rid of any sallowness and darkness under my eyes. The orange/yellow colour corrector really reduces the darkness of my bags and gives the area under my eyes and even tone before brightening with concealer. The consistency can be a little drying so be sure to apply a good eye cream before hand.

Three favourites for instantly lifting and brightening the eye area. Both the By Terry and the MAC can be used to add radiance wherever on the face, I generally prefer to use them under the eyes.

What are you secrets to brightening under the eyes and hiding those late nights?

Lots of Love

  1. I too own Mac Prep + Prime Highlighter but not such a fan of it tbh. I'm quite weird with new make-up and usually take a massive disliking to them upon the first few applications. I might have to dig it out of my drawer and try it out again lol X

  6. I love the laura mercier corrector too. I am using nars creamy concealer too which is excellent. Guerlain also do an amazing pen concealer too which I think is better than terry or touché éclat
