Concealer Heroes

20.1.14
ch

Over the years I've tried my fair share of concealers, some have impressed me and I've continued to repurchase them whereas others have stayed in the drawer till it was time for a 'Mouldy Make Up' clear out. Today I bring you my 'Concealer Heroes' a current selection of concealers that I absolutely adore and use in rotation, depending on what look I'm going for.

Tarte - Maracuja Creaseless Concealer (Medium-Tan)

I have such a love/hate relationship with this concealer. The hate mainly derives from the packaging which I think is an absolute nightmare - Once I've overcome this, the product itself, I adore! It's definitely a full coverage concealer but with that lightweight feeling on the skin for this reason, I often use it on a daily basis. To avoid the application from being too heavy I tend to warm and apply the product with my ring finger and then proceed to buff in with a BeautyBlender. I love the rich and buttery consistency although I do find it needs a powder to stay in place. This has been an amazing discovery and a complete God send in concealing my dark circles and blemishes.

By Terry - Touch Expert Advanced (6)

Renowned for being the creator of the world famous Touche Éclat by YSL - Terry's Touch Expert is my go to when I want a quick, easy and flawless application of concealer. The brush makes it effortless to apply and is ideal especially on the go. I find the coverage is better than the Touche Éclat and this concealer has the perfect light reflective finish minus that panda eye flashback in photographs. I usually apply this when I'm wearing tinted moisturiser for that bright eyed, clean, fuss free finish.

NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer (Biscuit)

No stranger to my blog or my YouTube channel. This is the ideal creamy, non cakey consistency concealer complete with that perfect powder-like finish. The coverage is fantastic and it stays put all day. The doe foot applicator also makes this concealer easy to work with. I find that this blends in seamlessly to liquid foundation and really hides those dark circles that we all detest. This also works a dream at concealing blemishes.

Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer (Honey)

Probably the most expensive concealer I've ever purchased, but I had to see whether it lived up to all the hype - I must say, it didn't disappoint. This for me, is my 'night out/special occasion' concealer. The coverage is pretty full on but nevertheless I'm in love with it. I find it a little heavy for everyday application but the instant brightness this adds to my face is amazing. Again I find the best way to use this concealer is with the warmth of my fingers - I just find it blends in beautifully. It's no surprise why Kim Kardashian's make up artist Mario Dedavonic swears by it, the finish is photoshop fresh! It is a splurge but never have I found a concealer that has impressed me the way this one has.

These are my current concealer loves! What are you guys loving/using?

Lots of Love

  2. Tarte and Cle de Peau are the two top spots on my concealer to-buy list for my next trip to the US. I'm especially excited about the Cle de Peau, no shocker there. I hope they come in my colour, I know the selection isn't too large.
