Laura Mercier - Crème Smooth Foundation

For those of you who have read my blog regularly for a while you will know that one thing I tend not to experiment with or change up as often as everything else is foundation. I have loyally used MAC's Studio Sculpt foundation for the last 3/4 years now and while I've tried the odd foundation here and there I always revert back to MAC. This year I wanted to try something new, call it January blues but I definitely needed some new things to perk me up.

The Laura Mercier Creme Smooth foundation is currently my new love, I don't know if this will replace my MAC Studio Sculpt but so far it's a good contender. The consistency is quite thick but once it's on the skin it blends through beautifully and the coverage is fantastic, very buildable. My shade in this foundation is Golden Beige and I think it's a great match, maybe even better than my MAC NC44.

This foundation is really hydrating and is particularly well suited to dry skin. I like the finish of the Crème Smooth Foundation it gives my skin a gorgeous glow, I do still prefer to set my foundation with a powder to mattify it slightly, but that's just me and habit.

The only thing I dislike so far about this foundation is the packaging, I tend to prefer foundations in a tube/pump format as it's less mess and more hygienic nevertheless I am going to enjoy using this foundation for the moment.

Time will tell if this matches up to my Studio Sculpt! Have any of you tried this foundation by Laura Mercier? I will upload pictures of this foundation on trés soon!

  1. I agree about the packaging too. At first I thought it looks really nice but it's not as practical. I use this as a concealer over tinted moisturiser as it blends so nicely and has good coverage. :) x

  5. Your right about the colour choice being limited Shana. I bought this a while back and was colour matched to Golden Beige even though I am NC35. It's way dark for me at the moment so i've started to use it for contouring my cheek bones a little. Other than that the consistency is really nice - I normally blend it into the skin using my fingers and go over it with a damp Beauty Blender.
