(036) LFW Day 2 MAC Masterclass with Pablo Rodriguez

Today was day two of London Fashion Week and I was lucky enough to be invited down to a MAC Masterclass at Somerset House. For those of you that don't know Somerset House is where the majority of fashion shows take place during LFW. The atmosphere is incredible - surrounded by fashionistas, bloggers, press, photographers and the odd celeb here and there.

Jameela Jamil being papped!

The masterclass was taught and talked through by Pablo Rodriguez, senior make up artist for MAC. He was recreating a look from the Setphane Rolland couture show in Paris. What I loved most about Pablo was the way in which he was so down to earth and urged ask to ask him questions and it was a really interactive and informative session.

The initial look from the Stephane Rolland couture show which he recreated was.

The face was flawless and Pablo started by using Stuido Sculpt foundation which he buffed in with a 188 brush. He then applied Select cover-up Concealer with a 217 brush. To set the face Pablo used Blot Powder with a 168.

To contour Pablo used a new contouring creme which is being released later this year he applied this with the same 188 brush and blended out with his fingers. To the apples of the cheeks he applied 'Pink Swoon' blush which just lifted the models face using the 168 brush.

To start the eyes  Pablo used 'Feline' Eyeliner in the water line and the upper lash line (This is the blackest eyeliner that MAC do). He then proceeded to apply 'Blacktrack' Fluidline Eyeliner and applied this packing the product all over the lid with a 149 brush. To smoke this out Pablo used a 224 brush. (My holy grail of a brush!) What I found really interesting was the Pablo said he could do a whole face using just a 149 and 224!

The black was really solid and quite blocky, to create a feathered out finish he used MAC Pro acrylic paint in black with a mascara wand. Pablo pressed this on to the outer corners in a uniformed fashion. This looked so effective and to complete the eyes he applied layers of the 'False Lashes' mascara, keeping it heavy and strong.

As the models brows were really fair, Pablo wanted to enhance them just slightly and to do so he applied the Paint Pot in 'Painterly' with a mascara wand and ran this through the models brows. This warmed them up just slightly without making them to much of a focus.

On the lips Pablo kept it simple with a nude lip gloss in 'Underage'.

The look was heavily focused on the eyes which turned out amazing, it was so FIERCE - Very Black swan-esque. I really want to recreate this look, I think I would totally rock a modified version of this. I loved how he used minimal products especially on the eyes and came out with this amazing look!  (Obviously all the products mentioned and brushes were MAC)

The whole event was a lot of fun and it was great to see some familiar faces. Afterwards myself, Shirley and Yinka wandered around soaking up the atmosphere. Here's a few shots of what I wore, standard black with gold accesoried and amy favourite PINK blazer from ZARA.

Just want to thank the team at MAC for having us, it was the perfect start to a Saturday. All products available from MAC.

Would any of you wear this look? Have any of you guys been following Fashion Week?
