(034) LFW Backstage with RUSH Hair at Francesca Marotta AW12

17.2.12
R22

Today here in London saw the star of Fashion Week! I was lucky enough to be invited exclusively backstage to the Francesca Marotto AW12 show on behalf of RUSH hair. Fashion week is such a buzz and it was so great to be backstage to be in the midst of all the madness.

I got to watch the rehearsals, see the stylists dress the girls together, admire the make up artists work their magic and of course see the HAIR creations take place in front of me.

I had the opportunity to chat to Tina head of RUSH's creative team who told me a little bit about the inspiration behind the hair for the show. There were two main looks which complimented the theme of the collection. Francesca's Marotta's AW12  is highly influenced by traditional Italian church culture, with the idea of funerals playing a significant role in her inspiration.

Look One

Soft waves created through the use of gloss control cream, effortlessly dressed and knotted through the back.

Look Two

Strong centre parting, Slick straight hair accompanied by a frizz halo which Tina said resembled Jesus Christ and the 'Crown of Thorns'.

The Finale!

Was worn by the last girl to walk the runway and was a full head of frizzy/curly hair, which was very texturized and bouncy - It supported the acrylic crown beautifully. Her make up was also different from the others with the illusion of blood pouring from her eyes, I loved the drama from this make up and her movements as she paraded down the runway.

I got to sit front row which was a huge honour and I thought the collection was beautiful. Red, black and lace dominated the runway and I was totally obsessed by the shoes. I also love the way in which acrylic accessories were used to contrast with the clothes.

I loved how theatrical the Francesca Marotta show was, the setting was absolutely gorgeous a real change from Somerset House. It also really went well with the church like theme of her collection.
