(015) Lip Saviour - Elizabeth Arden 8hr lip protectant

8hr

My lips have been suffering so much lately, they have been so dry and the only thing that seems to be keeping them moisturised and hydrated is the 8 Hour lip protectant stick by Elizabeth Arden. I was given this in part of a gift bag when I attended LFWE (Post HERE) but I have only got round to using this more recently. To be honest, I am not the biggest 8 hour cream fan I know my best friend and my mum swear by it but I have to admit the smell puts me off (Read my review HERE). The scent of this lip balm however isn't as strong in the standard 8 hour cream, to me it is more citrus based something I can deal with. I have been applying this in the mornings and I find it keeps my lips hydrated for hours (not sure about 8!) without me having to constantly apply it. Another thing I like is that this lip balm doesn't have a gloss to it, the formula is definitely more matte therefore I find it absorbs well into the lips. It also has an SPF of 15 which is beneficial and the EA lip balm is highly enriched with vitamin E.

The only downside to this lip balm is that  it's a little pricey for the amount of product you get. This picture is pretty accurate to how much is in the lipstick bullet. The packaging however is very glam!

What are your current favourite lip balms? What have you been using to keep your lips soft in these colder months?

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip protectant stick is priced £19 and available HERE

Lots of Love

  3. My lips are super chapped lately so I've been using Blistex Relief cream, ilove how it makes my lips tingle.

Which lip balm do you prefer though, By Terry's Baume de Rose or the EA one? x

    1. I loveeee my brume de rose! But this I find more hydrating.. for the price I'd rather pay a little more and get the By Terry.. it's gorgeous on it's own and over lipstick as it has a pretty lilac glaze to it. It is still hydrating but because it's more of a glossy finish I find myself reapplying it more often! xxx

  6. I avoid the 8 hour cream for the same reason, the smell completely puts me off! Carmex has been my savior for many years now, and at £2-3 a pop (with the amount of product you get) it's so affordable! But recently I've heard very good things about Korres Lip Butter so I ordered it in Mango (which is supposed to work well for Asian skintones, according to the site I purchased it from). But because it's mango I would've bought it regardless 8-)

  7. I never use to be a fan of Carmex but found it worked a treat on my lips and the same for EOS lipbalm. I have the lemon one which is also SPF 15 and smells like a lemon sorbet, but not over powering. x

  8. the Maybelline Baby Lips and FRESH lip treatment are pretty great. But, still looking for the perfect lip balm, but the price on this one is pretty high for what they give you.

  9. I get what you mean about the smell of the 8 hour cream...the sunscreen version of the cream is more bearable. Have you tried it?

  12. I haven't tried this, I just stick to the normal Eight Hour Cream, which I love.

    Is this better/worth it?
