On wednesday night I was luckily enough to be invited to the Illamasqua preview of Toxic Nature SS11. It was one of the most exciting and inspirational collections I have seen. The imagery is honestly astounding, I love it. When David Horne creative director was going through the collection inspiration he kept mentioning the colours and how he wanted them to be mouldy! hehe. The collection is a lot of pastel, earthy, mushroom tones colours which I think are quite unexpected for Illamasqua as I usually associate them with being dark.
The event was heldt at the Air Gallery on Dover Street and the space was perfect. We got to see and play with the new collection which was very cool.
My favourites had to be the nail polishes, I loved them all. There were two ladies from WAH nails painting our nails and found it so hard to chose which colour to have in the end I got persuaded to go with the pastel peach 'Purity'. It is actually so gorgeous and even though I had two coats applied the colours are so true to what you see in the bottle that one coat may have been sufficient.
Just want to thank Illamasqua for the invite to such a great event. We were sent away with some goodies that I will post once I've had a play around. Toxic Nature launches online on the 10th of March and on counters on the 17th March. Is there anything you will be checking out? The new creme pigments are very cool, great texture and strong in colour, they are great multi purpose products although I see them as a fab e/s base. What do you think of the imagery? Isn't it amazing.. I love it.
Hope you are all having a great weekend.. lots of love
