I am sure if you follow me on Twitter you will know that on Saturday I was one of the very few fortunate bloggers to be invited to London Fashion Week as a guest of MAC. I was beyond excited at the opportunity and it was possibly one of the most amazing experiences ever. It was an early start to the day and what other way to start it than with a MAC breakfast. The day was unreal, breakfast was followed by a Masterclass with Terry Barber who is the director of artistry for MAC it was such a great experience and he was just so cool. He ran through the runway trends of SS11 and recreated a 70s inspired look. The model was absolutely stunning and the final look was gorgeous, he used hues of coral and red and really exaggerated the contouring and the extension of the eye makeup. Terry was so down to earth it was really refreshing meeting someone so established in the industry and feeling as if you were talking to a friend. He shared stories on his experiences of working with icons like Diana Ross and Grace Jones. I have to just say we were all in LOVE with the models lips, Terry used Cherry lip liner that we all have on our MAC lists now and the lipstick is a prototype for next season called Runway Red! I want it! He finished her lips with lip glass.
After the masterclass we were rushed to the Betty Jackson AW11 show. This was my first time at a fashion show and it all went by so fast! I was in a little fashion bubble of my own, It was so inspiring! Reds, Camels and of course Blacks seem to be the staple colours for this AW11. The make up for the show was really understated, minimal makeup and slightly flushed cheeks.
The rest of the afternoon was spent mingling amongst ourselves and the make up artists at the MAC media booth. It was such a great day and just want to say a HUGE thank you to MAC PR for inviting me down it was so great to be part of. I also just wanted to say thank you to the girls I was with on the day we had a lot of laughs whilst trying to keep cool haha!
I was given an amazing goody bag with some fabulous products including a few bits from the new Wonder Woman Collection. I will probably be doing a follow up post to this one on those bits.
Have you ever been to fashion week? I have to say its really hard to keep cool.. My mum text me and was like how's it going? I was like OMG it's amazing.. she was like breathe ZARA! Act like its normal..! To think this is peoples lives and this is the norm really had me thinking about what I want to do in life. It was such a surreal experience.
Lots of Love
