Barry M.. Strawberry Ice Cream

5.7.10

I am on the search for a perfect baby pink nail polish, you know the sort of Stephanie Pratt from The Hills look. I picked up this Barry M nail polish the other day in Strawberry ice cream. I don't know how I feel about my current barbie nails.. too pink? too girly? Although I must add.. it took 4!!!! coats to achieve an even colour. Not good Barry M.. you're letting me down!

What colour are your nails? It's been ages since I've done a nails post.. since the last time you saw my nails.. they have been french manicured [eww don't ask..curiosity killed the cat after all these years], then they were another sort of pale pink.. I was trying out a new Rococo polish at work. Nice colour but wasn't happy about the effort I put in to achieve the colour they were. Think you can vaguely see them in my previous post. Anyways enough rambling..

  1. I love the colour, compliments your tan beautifully! A good tip I picked up is that if you wear a white base on your nails, whatever colour you apply on the top is much stronger and needs fewer coats. I'm wearing a Barry M nail polish too, #279 Bright Pink.. to me it's the most perfect shade of bubblegum neon pink :)

  5. Oh my lovely, I had this EXACT same problem with the Lemon shade. Absolutely rubbish, I don't know what's happened! Have you ever tried Model's Own Pastel Pink? I have a NOTD with it on my blog, but it's basically a gorgeous pastel milkshade esque pink. Really pretty and maybe worth checking out!

  6. zara- i use two coats of OPI "alpine snow" (an opaque white polish) and then 2 coats of a pink color like Essie's "minimalistic" or OPi's "sweetheart" it creates the perfect light pink nail that's also opaque

  12. oh this is a fab colour on you !

FYI - these are like the neatest painted nails ive ever seen in my life !!! ha !

i think girly pink nails are ok if you 'rock them up' a bit - with black clothes and dark eyes.
dont think i could get away with wearing pink nails and a floral dress !

    these look fab anyway

  13. If you think Strawberry Ice Cream is a bit too pinky for you and not so much baby pink, I would recommend checking out Models Own Pastel Pink, if you haven't already :) Only takes one coat to achieve an opaque colour too! I did a blog post/NOTD on it if you're interested. I do like the colour of Strawberry Ice Cream nevertheless! xx

  15. I ADORE that colour on your nails, it looks soo good against your skin tone! you have the neatest nails I have seen in ages, congrats on keeping them so perfect! Cant believe it took 4 coats though, that's a bit of a timewaster, but, hey, who doesn't want perfect nail paint? xxx
